Johanson Dielectrics, Inc., a provider of ceramic passive components, today announced that it has achieved the AS9100 quality management system (QMS) standard certification.

The AS9100 QMS is a stringent standard specific to the aerospace industry and includes the ISO 9001:2000 standard in addition to several complementary requirements. Designed to meet the complex and unique demands of the aerospace industry, it requires that products match specific requirements of customers, international regulatory agencies, and local state and national laws from contract to full documentation and production. Johanson’s quality system is built on a commitment to continuous improvement, and AS9100 compliance will become an integral part of the company’s internal quality processes that have been honed over the last decade.

“We aim to bring extra value to every step we take in our continuous quality improvement processes,” said John Petrinec, CEO of Johanson. “AS9100 is about more than simply training and documentation, but is part of a quality system that is at the core of what our company provides to every single one of our customers. Our lean manufacturing programs and culture of continuous improvement have defined our approach to product development, program management and manufacturing, and our customers can now be assured that this dedication to quality is not only real, but proven.”
