The metal element current sense resistor is an economical bare element. This high current resistor is rated at 1Watt, 3Watts and 5Watt and features a resistance range from 0.005 Ohms to 0.1 ohms. The element of the current sense resistors has a temperature coefficient of ±20ppm/°C and the tolerances are at ±1% and ±5%. The metal element current sense resistor design allows for maximum cooling via airflow, thus reducing the heat that goes into the PCB. Additionally, the form factor of this resistor is designed to allow for optimum current-sensing capability in compact electrical circuits.

Resistor Metal Element Current Sense Part Number Breakdown
This family of high resistance (10M Ohms to 1 Tera Ohms) resistors employs a thick film resistive element and is designed for long term stability and low TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) which are compatible with high volume SMT applications. TCR’s as low as +/-25ppm and tolerances as tight as +/-1% are available.
Standard EIA size packages 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 2512 and 4020 can handle power up to 2 Watts. These are non-magnetic resistors and thus are well suited for nonmagnetic applications.
For resistors operating in high temperature environments, we have two temperature options up to +155C or +300C. Their platinum silver terminations are designed are compatible with soldering, epoxy bonding, or wire bonding applications. The wide range of electrical and mechanical characteristics allow for design flexibility.
We can design our high temperature resistors for specific voltage requirements by trimming these thick film resistors. Contact our applications engineers to discuss high voltage or high temp ( +300C) applications.

The RHX Series of ultra-precision resistors is manufactured with either thin or thick film technology based on resistance value. Encased in traditional transistor packaging to maximize heat transfer, our ultra-high precision resistors have been optimized in the widely used standard transistor packages TO-220 and TO-247.
Resistances are available from 0.02 Ohm up to 51k Ohm. This series features high power ratings of 35, 50 and 100 Watts. These power ratings combined with the small, thin profile design makes these pulse withstanding resistors an excellent choice for your high density, compact applications. Circuit designs with high stability requirements will benefit from the low resistance drift (Low TCR) of these ultra-high precision resistors.

These products are available in 3 standard EIA sizes for high volume SMT placement and are designed for high current low voltage applications.
