RoHS Compliance

All standard parts* manufactured by Johanson Dielectrics, Inc. after January 1, 2006 are fully compliant to European Union Directive 2002/95/EC Restriction of Hazardous Substances commonly referred to as RoHS.

Lead-Free Terminations

All standard terminations (JDI termination code "V") of our SMT components consist of 100% Tin plating in a matte finish over Nickel. Components with these terminations are capable of a 270°C maximum reflow temperature for a duration of 5 seconds and compatible with most common lead-free solder processes. *Sn-Pb Terminations

In response to specific industry and customer requests, Johanson Dielectrics produces a limited amount of product featuring Tin-Lead (Sn-Pb) Terminations (JDI termination code "T".) This product is non-RoHS compliant due to the Pb constituent in the termination as required in certain specialty applications e.g. Military & Space.

Legacy RoHS Compliant P/N Suffix

In 2005 a Johanson part number suffix of "-****-RC" was implemented to assist customers in identifying compliant and non-compliant inventory during their transition to  RoHS compliancy.  The "RC" suffix is no longer necessary to ensure compliance and should not be utilized for new designs. JDI will continue to support these legacy part numbers for the benefit of customers with these part numbers on current AVLs / BOM’s.
