Lead-Free Terminations |
All standard terminations (JDI termination code "V") of our SMT components consist of 100% Tin plating in a matte finish over Nickel. Components with these terminations are capable of a 270°C maximum reflow temperature for a duration of 5 seconds and compatible with most common lead-free solder processes. |

| Johanson currently has an aggressive effort underway to achieve RoHS compliance for our entire line of SMT components. |
Present Component RoHS Status |
None of Johanson's components contain any of the following substances and it is our policy to prohibit their use in future designs:
• Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
• Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)
• Hexavalent Chromium
• Mercury |
Most of Johanson's component offering currently meets RoHS guidelines concerning Lead and Cadmium. "Lead in electronic ceramic parts" is permitted by RoHS, however any Lead that is currently in JDI components is of extremely small mass. A portion of our components contain Cadmium beyond the permitted 100 ppm level. |
Supply Chain |
Some JDI MLCC components in the supply chain may not be RoHS compliant.

In the case of part numbers which were not
compliant in the past, a new compliant part
number ending in -****-RC may be available.
Ordering Johanson part numbers using the
"-****-RC" part number suffix when available will
ensure RoHS compliancy.
JDI has established internal systems to track
RoHS compliancy of all manufactured parts by lot
and date code. Customers who cannot change their
vendor part numbers but require RoHS compliant
parts should communicate this clearly on all
verbal and written communication when requesting
product specifications, pricing, product
availability and must communicate it in writing
at the time of order placement. Please DO NOT
rely on mailed (posted) purchase order
acknowledgements to communicate important order
requirements as product is often shipped before
hard copy documentation reaches and is processed
by JDI. |
